Dictionary of Literary Biography systematically presents career biographies and criticism of writers from all eras and all genres through volumes dedicated to. "No living persons have biographies in the Dictionary [and] no persons who [have] not lived in the territory now known as the United States." The original 20 vols. were issued 1928-36. Vols. 21 and 22 consist of Supplement one, to Dec. 31, 1935, and Supplement two, to Dec. 31, 1940, issued in 19respectively v. 1.
